What ever happened to horror fiction?

I really haven't noticed any good horror fiction authors who have published work in the past couple years. Perhaps I am just completely oblivious to what is out there; but, it really seems as if sci fi and creature fiction has taken over the scene. I'm talking about authors like Stephen King, Clive Barker and R.L. Stine. Does anyone know if there are any new authors along those lines; or, is this genre a dying breed?
